Real One :: Fridays 6-8pm
Being a 21 year veteran of the DJ world, DJ Real One has done every kind of event that a DJ could do. Starting at the age of 12, he was inspired by DJs that he would see on MTV. Since he couldn’t afford 1200’s, he bought two CD players and a cheap mixer. Because of his extensive music selection that he and his brother compiled, people started asking him to do parties. He started to do birthday parties and school dances in high school, house parties, fraternity parties and radio shows in college. After school he moved up to Boston and bought two 1200’s and a Vestax mixer. Soon after seeing Clinton Sparks and DJ Dru Nyce, he decided it was time to purchase Serato. Since then, he has done all kinds of events and clubs throughout the Metro Boston Area, and worked at clubs like Rain in Malden, Tequila Rain, and Saint.
DJ Real One’s show is going to be slightly different then your average mix show. You will hear the popular songs, but you will also hear songs that you’ll remember from your past. In addition, you will hear newer stuff from the artists you have grown to love. Because of the extensive library of music, you will never hear the same show; you will always get something different. Furthermore, 90% of the songs you hear will be in some type of remix format. So although you may know the song, you may not have heard it the same way. One final thing; you will not hear air horns, lasers, bells and whistles, and very limited talking. Do you remember when DJ’s spoke with their hands? Real One sticks to that phrase.
